The active ingredient in NoBites™ is Citriodiol, which prevents insects from  “smelling” people, by creating a “camouflage” that shields users from being detected by biting insects, which often use their sense of smell to find prey.

DEET is a synthesized chemical active used as the common ingredient in many insect repellent products found on the market.

Overexposure to DEET has been found to cause irritated skin, breathing issues, headaches, and burning eyes. As this chemical is a powerful solvent, it can also damage certain fabrics, plastics as well as painted and varnished surfaces.

 

Plant-based repellents work in much the same way that DEET does. They make it difficult or impossible for certain insects to detect or smell people. NoBites^TMactive ingredient is Citriodiol, an oil extracted from the Eucalyptus citriodora tree.  Studies have found this oil to be as effective as DEET without the nasty side-effects!

 

It is worth knowing that other plant-based repellents, such as those based on peppermint oil, citronella, and lavender, have not been found to work as well or as long as repellents that use DEET or Citriodiol.

Absolutely. NoBites™ can be used to protect children as young as 12 months. In fact, it is so safe that we introduced a NoBites™insect repellent just for kids.

Before using, shake the bottle well and apply NoBites™ directly to exposed skin. Repeat application if required. Wash hands after each use. For additional protection, apply NoBites™ to clothing, as well.
